| Welcome to the home page of the SHIPTRAP control system!SHIPTRAPSHIPTRAP is a project set up after SHIP that is a Wien filter used for the search, discovery and production of super-heavy elements at GSI. SHIPTRAP consists of a gas cell for stopping the ions delivered by SHIP and linear Paul traps and Penning traps for ion beam preparation. SHIPTRAP can be used for experiments like mass measurements or may serve as a facility to deliver clean, bunched and cooled mono-isotopic samples of super-heavy nuclides at low energy (1keV) to other experiments. General RemarksThe aim of this web page is the documentation of the control system for SHIPTRAP. The development of the control system is done in a collaboration between three different groups - SHIPTRAP/Munich, SHIPTRAP/GSI and DVEE/GSI. SHIPTRAP/Munich takes care about the gas cell and the extraction. SHIPTRAP/GSI takes care about the rest. DVEE/GSI helps the experimentalists with setting up the system. Operation, maintenance and further development will be the responsibility of the experimentalists. The control system is developed according to the system development method stdSEM (see Project Management). CS - a control system frameworkThe SHIPTRAP control system uses CS, a control system framework that is developed at GSI. |
