 July 1, 2009: The directors and PAC chairpersons of the three AGATA host labs LNL, GSI and GANIL met with AGATA representatives at GSI for an information exchange on the coordination of the planned AGATA campaigns. It was affirmed that the official start of the physics programme at LNL is January 1, 2010, with the second campaign at GSI to begin in autumn 2011 and the third one at GANIL in 2013.

 October-December, 2009: In-beam commissioning of  AGATA triple detectors with full EDAQ chain,  online PSA,  tracking and ancillary coupling was successfully performed at LNL Legnaro. First experiments are planned for January 2010.

 February 18, 2010: First real in-beam experiment with the AGATA demonstrator at LNL Legnaro performed!!! It dealt with Coulomb excitation of 42Ca + 208Pb.
